Chapter 2: The Law of Attraction
Bottom line, you can harness the Law of Attraction to find your soulmate or to obtain anything else you desire in life. Quantum physics has proven and defines the Law of Attraction as being the mutual (shared in common) action by which bodies or particles tend to draw together or cohere (hold together in a mass that resists separation).
Like attracts like. This means to find your soulmate, you need to make yourself into the person you wish to attract and stay together with. Now it’s very important to point out here that the law does not state that what is attracted is that which is dreamed about or lusted after. This is why so many fail in their attempts to use the Law of Attraction to manifest their desires.
You must genuinely be LIKE, in how you live, speak and act, that which you wish to have. We must freely give what we want to receive. Remember, like attracts like. We attract what we are, not what we want. The law cannot be fooled… Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
I don’t believe the Law of Attraction is real, I KNOW it is through careful observation and experimentation in my own life. The Law of Attraction, also known as Karma, explains how and why God’s justice is unwaveringly perfect. Think about it. If we always only ever receive that which we give (and we do) what could be more just or benevolent? I can think of no greater gift from our creator than to be governed by such a fair and loving law.
This is why the golden rule is so important, why Christ said “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” He says, “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” He doesn’t say it might be, he says it will be. What you do WILL be done to you. What you GIVE will return to you. This is the most urgent teaching of all true prophets, and the most important thing you need to learn and apply to everything in your life. It is always at work, and the sooner you become aware of it the better.
The Law of Attraction not only gives back to you that which you choose of your own free will to give to another, it gives you exactly what you need in order to heal and become whole. When you receive things you don’t like, it’s for your own good. This is so that you can learn right from wrong, truth from lies, fantasy from reality, and can make corrections to your course. Like a good parent, the law is always acting in your best interest, and providing you with exactly what you need (not want) in the moment to be the best person you can be. It’s at work in your life whether you acknowledge its presence or not.
It is also important to clarify that the Law of Attraction (Karma, the great balancer) is impartial. It does not sit in judgement over us. We are the critics. It is devoid of the knowledge of good and evil, and doesn’t think at all. It knows nothing. Think of it as a mechanical law governing our field of operation and nothing more.
Now back to how to apply this law to finding your soulmate. If you want a soulmate to love and accept you unconditionally, love and accept yourself unconditionally. If you want a soulmate to always tell you the truth about how they feel, always tell the truth about how you feel. If you want a soulmate who is faithful, be faithful. If you want a soulmate to listen and hear what you are saying, listen and hear what others are saying. I could keep going but I think you get the point.
Every relationship is a MIRROR in which you can see your own reflection. Your feelings and judgements about others are in fact truths about HOW YOU YOURSELF ARE and show what you need to work on inside and in that relationship. Your criticisms pinpoint exactly where you need to make adjustments to your own personality in order to better reflect the real you. This is the secret self you keep hidden, the one you desire for others to know deeply and love unconditionally.
A soulmate relationship is one in which you feel like you can be 100% authentic, one in which you feel fully known and accepted.
If you attract a partner who is emotionally unavailable, it means you are emotionally unavailable and need to learn how to open up and trust. If you attract someone who is jealous and possessive, it means you are jealous and possessive and need to learn how to stop trying to control how things turn out, to release attachment to the outcome and to give emotional space and freedom to others.
The key to finding the perfect partner is to make your own reflection perfect. This means not wearing any masks, not pretending to be who you think you need to be in order for the other person to love you. Make who you are on the inside match who you PRESENT yourself to be to the world, no dichotomy. Until you love yourself enough to show who you really are to everyone, and can stop worrying about what others think, and don’t need acceptance from others, you will never find your true soulmate, self love or happiness.
Instead you will continue to attract events for your learning, and partners who cannot be honest with you, because remember, like attracts like. The strongest attractions you will feel are to the people you are meant to learn your most valuable life’s lessons from, about who you really are, and how you relate to the Creator.
These relationships are meant to make you question yourself, to ask yourself why? They are the ones that cause you the most angst. They come with an undeniable chemical attraction, but also a lot of pain, for the one most in love, because it is not an equally reciprocated and committed love. These relationships make you ask why, “why don’t they love me as much I love love them?”
The person you are in an unequally reciprocated and committed relationship with, is NOT your forever soulmate. This person is just meant to be in your life for a season, until your lesson with them has been learned. Moving on and healing from these relationships instead of hanging on and dragging the emotional abuse to yourself out, over what is sometimes years, will bring you one step closer, that much faster, to finding your true soulmate, self love, and happiness.
